Softball Bat Rules and Guidelines:
(SUGGESTION: attach a copy of this bat policy to your score book.
·
Any bat not listed above should be
submitted to Doug Glassmacher to be researched and approved.
·
“ASA Approved” or “Official
Softball” labels DO NOT automatically qualify that bat as
approved according to our rules.
·
All bats must not exceed 2 ¼” in
diameter.
·
All bats must be made from a single
piece (billet) of solid wood, no composites or laminates.
·
Bam boo
in any form (laminated, core) is NOT APPROVED. Solid maple, oak,
ash, birch are all approved woods.
·
For safety, handles should be taped
or gripped.
·
Reinforced handles made of
fiberglass or “glassed” are prohibited.
·
Although bat color or paint is not
regulated, transparent stains are recommended since opaque paint may be
used to cover composites.
